IXS Partners With OpenTrade to Offer Institutional On-Chain Yield Through Money Market Funds and BlackRock-Backed Bond ETF

Nassau, Bahamas - Tokenized fixed income just got an institutional distribution rail.

IXS, the Institutional eXchange Settlement layer for real-world assets (RWAs), has partnered with Opentrade to launch two upcoming products that bring traditional financial instruments on-chain: a high-yield corporate bond vault referencing BlackRock’s SHYG ETF and a tokenized money market fund built for stable, short-duration yield.

The partnership marks a notable step forward in building compliant, yield-generating products that can be deployed by institutional allocators, without the typical legal ambiguity or DeFi risk.

“Opentrade and IXS are aligned in our goal to bring trust, compliance, and institutional depth to digital fixed income,” said Julian Kwan, CEO of IXS. “This partnership marks another milestone in making real-world yield accessible to the next generation of investors.”

The Product Pipeline: Fixed Income for On-chain Capital

While the crypto space has long flirted with RWAs, most platforms have stopped at token issuance. This partnership aims to go a step further, providing stable yields from tokenized fixed-income financial instruments.

Vault 1: BlackRock iShares High Yield Corporate Bond (ticker: SHYG)

Vault 2: U.S. Treasury Bills and USD Money Market Fund

Both the above products are designed for institutional allocators, think family offices, DAO treasuries, crypto fund managers, looking to rotate idle capital and stablecoins into regulated yield strategies without breaking operational risk frameworks.

DARE License + RWA Liquidity = Execution Layer That Works

The IXS platform operates under the DARE license granted by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas. That licensing structure enables IXS to bring yield products backed by real world assets for its users, making it one of the few infrastructure players that can connect compliant issuance with on-chain market structure.

Meanwhile, Opentrade is building the fixed-income rails, bringing over $2B in demand through a mix of DAOs, off-chain institutions, and custody-linked capital. With integrations to platforms like Fireblocks and Circle, Opentrade brings the deal flow. IXS ensures it moves.

Why This Matters

The crypto space has seen no shortage of RWA headlines, but few products are actually built for execution. Most are still navigating regulatory gray zones, custodial ambiguity, or lack of on-chain liquidity.

This partnership shifts the game. By bringing together IXS’s regulated exchange and OpenTrade’s fixed-income platform, capital allocators now get access to professionally built yield products backed by the infrastructure they need to actually use them.

"This launch with IXS shows how trusted partners can work together to bring stable, high-yield investment products on-chain in a way that’s simple, secure, and transparent," said Jeff Handler, Co-founder & CCO of OpenTrade. He added, "By bringing institutional on-chain yield with Money Market Funds and the BlackRock-Backed Bond ETF to OpenTrade’s platform, we’re helping IXS offer their investors easier access to real-world yield without the usual barriers of traditional finance. It’s a strong step forward in making institutional-grade opportunities available to more people, globally."

What’s Next

These two products will go live on the IXS platform this quarter. Institutional onboarding, custody routing, and KYC modules are already in progress, with a roadmap that includes additional products across sovereign debt, credit, and short-duration instruments.

With regulatory frameworks tightening and appetite for tokenized yield growing, the IXS – Opentrade partnership arrives at a time when the market is no longer asking if RWAs will scale, but how quickly and under what structure.

For investors, DAOs, and fund managers looking to engage with regulated yield strategies without sacrificing capital efficiency, this might be the first real solution.
